Show Jumping at Marbach State Stud
Amongst the over 30 warmblood stallions on offer for breeding at Marbach State Stud, there are some first-rate show-jumping horses. Many famous international show-jumping horses are from Holstein bloodlines, but also Hanovarian, Trakehner, Wuerttemberger, Selle Francais and Dutch horses have a place on the international stage.
Catwalk (Holsteiner) by Colman (Holst) / Corleone (Holst) has won international Advanced*** competitions and has been successful at Grand Prix and FEI World Cups with his current owner and rider Robert Whitaker.
The Hannovarian ‘prime stallion’ Christdorn by Contendro I (Holst) / Glücksstern (Hann) has been based at the ‘German Olympic Committee for Riding – young talents squad’ at Warendorf since 2014. Christdorn has been ridden by Gerrit Nieberg (son of Lars Nieberg, successful German show jumping rider) and trained by the German National show jumping coach. Christdorn’s outstanding rideability, his commitment to perform, speed and tight turns have awarded him international placements. His riders appreciate his reliability and his well-balanced pleasant character. His foals turn out noble, long-legged with great paces. Christdorn is one of the stallions at Marbach’s Eventing Breeding Programme (please find more in the Eventing section).
Cyrano de Bergerac (Württemberger) by Coriano (Holst) – Corrado I – Cor de la Bryere / Ricardo (Holst) is another famous name in international show jumping with his rider Franke Sloothaak.
Larimar (Holsteiner) by Lavall II (Holst) - Landgraf I / Lord (Holst) has a significant percentage of thoroughbred in his pedigree. With his correct physics, his large canter and excellent rideability, he makes a remarkable show-jumper. Larimar is sire to six licenced stallions and numerous successful sport horses.
In addition to the more mature stallions, Marbach State Stud is also proud of its youngsters for example:
Donauabend (Trakehner) by Abendtanz (Trak) / Lauries Crusador xx. Born in 2012, Trakehner licensed in 2014 this black stallion with his handsome face and his excellent proportions stands out in jumping but also has dressage blood in his renowned family which includes the famous Trakehner stallion Kostolany. Due to his pedigree, his jumping and dressage qualities, Donauabend is on the eventing breeding programme and a very promising young stallion at Marbach State Stud.
